What standards were used to develop easyCBM?

  • The reading assessments are based on the 'Big Five' constructs of reading reported in the National Reading Panel (2000). Included are measures of early literacy (Letter Names, Phoneme Segmenting), phonics (Letter Sounds), fluency (Word and Passage Reading Fluency) vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
  • In addition, for students receiving literacy instruction in Spanish, the system offers measures of early literacy (syllable segmenting), phonics (syllable sound fluency), fluency (word and sentence reading fluency), and vocabulary in grades K-2.
  • Two different math measures are available with easyCBM. One is based on both the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Curriculum Focal Points and the other is based on the Common Core State Standards.
